Vegan Guide to The Philippines

If you didn’t already know, we both eat plant based! Every time we travel somewhere new we know the drill of looking up all the restaurants & cafes with options for us. Almost every where we’ve gone so far hasn’t been a problem for us, until The Philippines (more specifically, Cebu City). All the local food of the Philippines are meat dishes, and unless we went to a specifically vegan restaurant, we weren’t able to find anything to eat. Because it was a real struggle for us, we wanted to help any future plant based eaters out there! So read on below for our guide to all the vegan deliciousness we found in The Philippines!

  • Planet Vegis - Try the vegan adobo (another local Filipino dish traditionally made with meat)

  • Lemon Grass Restaurant - Try one of the curries, they were spicy & delicious!

  • Siam - Try the tofu with cashew nuts

  • Shaka Bowls - Try the Cloud 9 Kook bowl & the iced latte with soy milk

  • Bamboo Place - Try the veggie burger and one of the Cebruery Craft Beers

  • Luna Rossa Vegetarian Italian - Try the penne with pumpkin smoked seitan. They even added nutritional yeast on top, yum!

  • The Buzzz Cafe - Try the spicy kinilaw talong & some of their coconut milk ice cream in a cassava cone

  • Cafe Honest - a fully vegan cafe! Try ANYTHING because it’s all amazing!

  • Olas Banditos Seawadeeka - Try the tofu curry - this was our favorite meal in all of the Philippines!
