The Perfect Weekend in Philadelphia
Philadelphia is one of our favorite cities in the USA (besides NYC of course ). Fun fact, Philadelphia was actually our first ever trip together and it’s what inspired us to start 27 Travels! Philly is full of United States history, amazing vegan food, and amazing locals. Keep on reading to see all the reasons why we love Philly so much!
How To Get To Philly
For public transport from NYC, you can take a bus or the train. We have never done that because we have a car so we always drive to Philly! It’s only about 2 hours from NYC and it’s a really easy drive. We tend to stay in areas where we can park our car and leave it because Philly is a very walkable city and we love walking everywhere.
Where To Stay
Every time we go to Philly we’ve stayed at an Airbnb. They tend to be wayyyy more affordable than hotels, and we love getting some tips on what to do from the locals! Our favorite areas of Philly are The Gayborhood & Old City so we recommend staying there if you can.

The LGBTQ Scene
Philly is one of the places we feel the most comfortable being a same sex couple. There are rainbows on the street signs in the Gayborhood all year long, and we feel very welcome and accepted there. The Gayborhood is full of amazing queer bars and stores (like our fav Giovanni’s Room) and most importantly, we aren’t afraid to be ourselves anywhere in the city.
