What to do in Burlington in the Summer | Vermont Travel Guide
Burlington, Vermont is a very popular Winter destination in the USA. We had the opportunity to visit a few years ago in the Winter season and we had an amazing time, but we are both more warm weather people, so it was nice to experience the same destination in the Summer! Burlington has so much to offer in the warmer months including small town shopping, nature hikes, and some of the best sunsets we’ve ever seen in the United States. Keep reading to see our guide of what to do in Burlington in the Summer.
How to Get to Burlington
Burlington is about a 6 hour drive from NYC (it’s only about 45 minutes from the Canadian border!), but if you don’t have a car you can definitely take Amtrak as well. We have done the drive both times and it’s perfect for a weekend road trip.
Where to Stay in Burlington
We have stayed at a few different accommodations in Burlington previously, but the Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Burlington we stayed at this time around was definitely our favorite. The location is perfect, it’s right in the middle of downtown and in walking distance to nearly everything you could possibly want to do. There are also lots of great restaurants and bars around the area as well which is another reason why it’s our favorite.

Even though Burlington is a popular winter travel destination in the North East, we actually preferred visiting in the Summer! Burlington’s Pride is also usually the last weekend of September so if you happen to visit them you can join in the festivities and support the local LGBTQ+ community!
