We decided to visit Colorado for our 4 year anniversary! We’ve both been wanting to go for a while because we have never been. But also Shanna’s brother is in the army and he’s stationed there so we wanted to visit him! Colorado is such a gorgeous state, it’s surrounded by the mountains and because of the elevation, the state averages to about 6,800 feet high! Denver is actually nicknamed the Mile High City because it is literally one mile above sea level! We had such a great time exploring a few cities in Colorado so make sure you also check out our Colorado Springs blog post for more tips!

Where to Stay

We stayed at a Sonder location in University Park. We had never stayed at a Sonder before but it’s very similar to an Airbnb where you basically have an entire apartment to yourself. We loved staying there, the place was super clean and spacious! The only negative was the location, it was far from everything we wanted to do. We did book this trip very last minute though so that’s on us, almost all other accommodations were booked up already. If we went back to Denver again, we would stay in the downtown area because the city is very walkable and from there you can walk anywhere!
